Rift has been extremely popular among game developers. The initial release was ten times more successful than expected. Sales brought in over $2.4 million. In March of 2016, a consumer product was released which featured specialized VR displays, positional audio, and infrared tracking.

Facebook purchased Oculus in March of 2014 for $2.3 billion in cash and stock. 2015 saw Oculus purchase Surreal Vision, a British company focused on 3D reconstruction and mixed reality. Oculus is hoping to develop new products with the concept of, ‘telepresence’. Telepresence is a concept that allows a person to feel as if they were present, give the appearance of being present, with the use of tele-robotics, at a place other than their true location. A possible application is videoconferencing but at a higher level of technical sophistication.

These forward thinking, visionary companies use Pyramid Logistics for their trade show services, transportation, and logistics. Let them do the same for you and your company.

Last year, in March 2016, VANS celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The company was started by brothers Paul Van Doren, Jim Van Doren, Gordon Lee and Serge Delia. They opened for business in Anaheim, California. Their store was unique because shoes were made on the premises and sold directly to the public. On their first morning of business, 12 customers purchased shoes that were made that day and were ready to be picked up that afternoon. The name “House of Vans” was started in the early 1970s. Skateboarders liked VANS strong fabric and stitching with a ‘sticky’ sole, still popular today for the same reasons. In 1978 VANS introduced what has become an iconic side-stripe on a high-top shoe. This gave more protection to skateboarder’s lower legs and ankles. The classic slip-on shoe with a checker board pattern was introduced in 1982, and worn by Sean Penn in the movie, “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”, which only added to its popularity.

VANS is now located in Cypress, California, and was sold in 2004 to the VF Corporation for $396 million. VANS began producing snowboarding boots in 1993that have been worn by Olympic medalists. Maintaining their handmade company culture, VANS allows customers to ‘create their own’ designs that VANS will make for them. VANS also produces apparel and other products such as T-shirts, hoodies, socks, hats, and backpacks. They are active in the actions sports industry and sponsor skateboard, surf, snow, BMX, and motocross teams. They are the primary sponsors of the annual Vans Warped Tour, the Triple Crown of Skateboarding, and VANS/Hard Rock Let It Ride BMX Jam. They opened their first store in China in 2008.

VANS is a company that produces quality products for the people involved in action sports. They wouldn’t trust their trade show displays and merchandise to just anyone. They count on Pyramid Logistics for all their trade show needs. You won’t be disappointed by relying on Pyramid Logistics for your trade show transportation, display set-up and merchandise handling. Customer satisfaction is our primary goal and our clients will tell you, Pyramid Logistics are the best in the business.

The origin of the name “Twitter” was explained by one of its founders, “...we came across the word 'twitter', and it was just perfect. The definition was 'a short burst of inconsequential information,' and 'chirps from birds'. And that's exactly what the product was.” ‘Tweets’ are restricted to 140 characters or less and are used for news and social networking. Messages are posted and users can interact with the messages. Unregistered users can only read ‘tweets’, registered users can post them. Users can access a website or use an app on a mobile device. Twitter Inc. is based in San Franciscoand has more than 25 offices around the world. Twitter was created in March of 2006 and launched in July of that year. By 2012 it had more than 100 million users. As of 2016, Twitter logged more than 319 million monthly users and on the day of the Presidential election, Twitter was a large source of breaking news. Explaining that over time Twitter has changed from what they thought it was going to be, one of the founders said, “Twitter actually changed from what we thought it was in the beginning, which we described as status updates and a social utility. It is that, in part, but the insight we eventually came to was Twitter was really more of an information network than it is a social network.”

A major factor in Twitter’s popularity came in 2007, with its use at the South by Southwest Interactive conference. During the conference, usage of Twitter went from 20,000 tweets per day to 60,000 tweets per day. Two large screens were set-up to stream the tweets. Attendees were able to keep track of one another and the events they were attending, by tweeting back and forth. Twitter became something mentioned by panelists, speakers and bloggers. That year Twitter won the Web Award prize.

Twitter uses Pyramid Logistics to transport and unload their displays at South by Southwest. Twitter Inc. understands that they need problem free set-up, operation, and take down of their trade show electronics. They trust Pyramid Logistics for their trade show services, so should you. Use Pyramid Logistics for all your next trade show needs: transportation, services and logistics. You can trust them.
